justplainfred is just me playing along with my own backing tracks that I've recorded at home. I pretty much gave up on the idea of bands a long time ago and now I just play for a few friends or just for my own amusement (fortunately I'm easily entertained). I'm currently unsigned but, I'm not particularly interested in getting back into the music bid'ness, at least not full time. It's more fun playing what I want when I want and it's more satisfying to my soul this way as well. Original music and jam tracks and maybe some covers are all fair game so, there'll be plenty of good music here to listen to or jam along with. I play a lot of blues but, I play other stuff too, such as novelty tunes, songs that tell amusing stories, parodies sometimes or a country tune or maybe a little this and some of that - just whatever strikes my fancy at the moment. My musical tastes are somewhat eclectic so, I'm liable to play almost anything whether it's good or not. Most of my postings will be 'family friendly' but, maybe not all of it. I don't do or avoid doing anything based on someone else's sensitivities or standards of morality. And I could care less about what may or may not offend someone. If you see or hear something here you don't like for some reason, don't complain to me about it, just STOP WATCHING AND LISTENING!!!THIS AIN'T NO KARAOKE - IT'S ALL ME!!!For those who want to know about my gear and my backing tracks, it goes like this. My main equipment consists of a Switch Vibracell Wild-IV guitar, Fender Squire strat copy, SX J-bass (strung with flatwounds), cheap radio shack mic, Behringer UB802 mixer, Alesis sr16 drum machine. I run the guitars, mic, drums into the mixer and run the mixer into an old home stereo amp. At no point do I use or apply effects of any kind. I also do not use pre-programmed drum patterns of any kind (I never heard one I liked), only the sounds of the sr16 which I play live myself. I play all the parts live one at a time and record them with PowerTracks then, I try to get a decent mix (that's the hardest part). That's the basic method to my madness, strictly dirt cheap, low rent and lo-tech because I'm really just a poor lo-tech guy at heart. So, if you like what you hear please feel free to rate the music and comment on it and by all means, please share with your friends and subscribe to my channel if you'd like.thanks for your support...justplainfred
