a two-fer: the motown hit, "it takes two" and a number from the musical, the music man, "till there was you." the difference in style between the two is like night and day, but both are amazing performances..."it takes two was composed by william "mickey" stevenson and the wonderful sylvia moy. it's pure joy all the way: the music, courtesy of the funk brothers, rolls along effortlessly, marvin and kim exhibit a very real chemestry and the song became an all-around hit. "till there was you" was a song composed by meredith wilson for his musical play, "the music man." shirley jones performed the tune in the moive version and anita bryant had a recording of the song as well.both songs appeared on the tamla album, "marvin gaye kim weston take two" and were produced by william "mickey" stevenson.
